Wuesthoff Medical Center - Rockledge is pleased to partner with New Vision™, a successful hospital-based service providing inpatient medical stabilization services to patients withdrawing from alcohol or drug use. Follow-up and referral services are also provided, in order to begin to address some of the personal, family and employment issues impacted by the disease.
The service provides crisis intervention, assessment, pre-screening, hospital admission, medical stabilization and appropriate discharge planning over three to five days for patients seeking help. New Vision accepts appropriate patients who are experiencing incapacitation due to substance use, or are experiencing acute drug withdrawal symptoms.
The average length of stay is three days.
This unique voluntary service will accept appropriate adults, 18 years or older, who need to undergo drug or alcohol withdrawal over three to five days.
The multidisciplinary treatment team includes New Vision employees, Wuesthoff hospitalists, nurses and other hospital staff who work together with the patient to achieve a successful outcome.
