Stephen J. Watts, MD, is a cardiac electrophysiologist who has been practicing in Brevard County for more than 15 years. He was the first board-certified electrophysiologist in the area and developed the Electrophysiology Laboratory at Wuesthoff Medcial Center-Rockledge. He has performed more than 4,000 device implants including pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders. He was the first doctor in Brevard County to perform ablations for both supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias and has performed more than 2,500 procedures.
Dr. Watts graduated with a BS in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He did his internship, residency and fellowship training at Yale University. He then returned to the University of Massachusetts for electrophysiology training.
He is married and has two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys mock trial competitions and helping keep time at cross country and track meets with his daughters. Dr. Watts also enjoys tennis, music and walking his dog. His wife, Julie, is an attorney and serves on the Brevard Zoo board of directors.
